Beacon Credit Score

Web Site: http://www.equifax.com

Each credit bureau has a different type of credit score. A Beacon Score is a credit score used by Equifax credit bureau. Equifax subscribes to the Fair Isaac's FICO model of scoring and then they integrate their own version of a person's FICO score. The Equifax Beacon credit score is on a scale of 340 to 820.

Equifax markets their credit score under the name Score Power. They've partnered with Fair Isaac, so they use the FICO score, and the fico score uses a scale from 300 to 850 where 661 or 681 is very good. The concept of credit scores started back in 1956 with two men names Bill Fair and Earl Isaac. Fair, a mathematician, and Isaac, an engineer, fund the Fair Isaac Company; otherwise, known to us today, as the FICO score. The credit system has has standardized the way the financial industry extends credit.
